Well, I had my mammogram a couple weeks ago......not a good time. Everything came out normal, but MAN DID IT HURT!!! Seriously, you would think that by this day and age with all the fancy things this world has come up with, that someone would have thought of a better way to check for breast cancer!! Wow, that's all I really have to say about that. It's one of those things that you just won't understand until you have to do it yourself-and you should do it yourself at some point between 35-45 years old.
Anyway, Jon and I just went on vacation, and it was so great! We got to visit with Jon's family in Michigan and Indiana for a couple of days, which was great. I just love family! Everyone was so accomodating and friendly, it was just great to see everyone. After the family visiting, Jon and I headed off by ourselves to Ohio to the city of Sandusky to go to Cedar Point Amusement park. Let me tell you, Ohio is full of corn and wheat, and that's about it!! lol. I've never seen so much produce before! It was very neat to see small town midwest-so different from Texas! One of the best parts of our trip to me was getting to see Jon's home town, Bryan, Ohio. He lived there from 2nd grade until he moved to Texas when he was a sophomore in high school. So, this town was pretty much where he grew up, and he has a lot of memories of this place. It was nice to see where he came from and put a picture to the places he has talked about. I really felt like I knew him better after that ride around his home town. That night we made it into Sandusky and headed to Cedar Point for a few hours before it closed at 10. Let me tell you, riding rollercoasters at night is so fun!! It actually didn't get dark up there until like, 9:15, so we only got to ride a couple of rides in the dark, but it was great! They have the best rollercoasters ever! If you love rollercoaster, you have got to go to Cedar Point, Six Flags just doesn't cut it. We went on a rollercoaster that went up 310 feet and dropped us down at 90 mph!! Another one only lasted 20 seconds and started off like a drag race car at 120mph!!!!120mph!!!! woah, I couldn't even open my eyes it was so fast! It took us straight up and straight back down, like, an upside down U-absolutely crazy-but soooo fun!! We were both so exhausted by the end of our trip that we both slept on the plane ride back and went to be early that night! I just love vacations! Well, that's all I have for today!!
Peace out!

summatime, and the livin's easy.....
So......school is just days from being out and I almost can't contain myself!! I'm doing some work this summer, so work isn't really finished for me, but for the most part it is. I am so ready for summer time! I don't know if you know this, but summer is my favorite season. You will never hear me complain about summer time. I am not one of those that hates the heat-now, if I'm doing something that I don't enjoy, outside in the heat, yes, I will complain, but I generally don't do things that I don't enjoy-that's just not how I roll. I would SO much rather be in 95 degree weather than 35 degree weather, unless I'm skiing in Colorado, then 35 is acceptable, but only for a little bit.
I would really like to be as pumped as some of my friends about the summer concerts coming up, but unfortunately, I'm not. However, Chris Cagle and Train two weekends ago were fabulous!!! I loved it! So, I guess that's a good start and maybe I'll find some good concerts to go to later.
I am super pumped about Jon and my's anniversary vacation!!! We are going to Cedar Point, OH. "What's that?", you say? Well, let me tell you. Cedar Point is the US's largest theme park with some of the largest, fastest roller coasters in the world!!!!! Yes, I know, that doesn't sound like a great anniversary vacation to some of you, but I'm so excited. I have wanted to go ever since Jon moved down here and after a trip to 6 flags told me that it was pathetic compared to Cedar Point ( where he used to live) I am so ready to ride these coasters!!! We are also going to visit some of his family while we are up there, so that will be a good time too. Now, don't get me wrong, I would love to be spending our anniversary on the beach the whole time, but that's not really Jon's cup of tea, so we had to compromise. Plus, Jon's family lives at Lake Michigan, so I can just spend an afternoon on the beach there-which is actually like a beach, not a lake with brown dirt like we have here. Plus!!! We are flying into Chicago and going to get real Chicago pizza for dinner while we are there!! :) How awesome is that? I know, be jealous. I don't know if Cedar Point or Chicago pizza are on my bucket list, but they should be and I will get to check them off in a few weeks!
Another thing I'm going to check off soon is writing a children's book. I'm going to start doing some drafts now and see where it takes me. Wish me luck!!
Oh! By the way! I had a great, great birthday weekend! Thanks to Erin for coming down and keeping me entertained! lol! It doesn't get much better than friends, family and the lake, so I started my 26th year off very well!! We will see what the rest of the year brings! Peace out!

BOOBS
Well, I went to the lady doctor recently and since this was my first visit with her ( I changed docs to get an actual OB/GYN so I don't have to switch in the future when I have babies, and to establish a doc here since I've been using my doc in Denton still) I had to give her all my and my family's history. Well, my mom and maternal g-ma have both had breast cancer-my mom had it when she was 45ish-so she was pre-menopausal. My new doc told me that since my mom was pre-meno that I needed to start getting mammograms like, now. She said the age to start if your mom has had breast cancer is 35 if her cancer happend when she was post-period, but if the cancer came pre-meno, then the daughter's are supposed to get mammos starting at 25! No one has ever told me this!! She said they do this because my chance of getting breast cancer is 16X more likely since my mom was pre-meno when she got her cancer. WELL CRAP!! I guess that's the benefit of going to an OB/GYN instead of a NP-she knows important information!! So, needless to say, I had to make an appt. for a mammo. BOO! The good thing about it is that I am actually going to go with my mom and g-ma when they go on June 10th. They have to go every 6 months for mammos since they have had cancer, so I'm going with them on their summer trip. They go to Dallas to Baylor to get their's done since we don't trust doctors in Longview to give good tests, so it's going to be an all day trip, but I feel better about it now that I'll be with my mom and g-ma and not by myself. I'm really kind of nervous about it cause I have been told that it hurts like a biotch! so I'm really not looking forward to it. To make it even worse, my women's group at church watched a DVD of this christian lady comedian, I can't remember her name, but she did a whole thing on getting mammograms and it was hillarious, but it seriously scared me!!! lol! She was talking about how much it freaking hurt while they were smashing your boob, and how they move your boobs around on the little platform if it's not on there right, and all this stuff that does not sound like a good time!! lol! Anyway, I'm glad I'm getting it done, so that I can be even more proactive that self-breast exams, but I just wasn't prepared to have to start having them right now! I thought I had another 10 years! In all seriousness, though, I have already made a plan that if I do ever get breast cancer, that both of 'em are coming off and I'm getting fabulous fake boobies in their place! lol! But, it does freak me out a little that I have such a higher chance of getting breast cancer- I want to breast feed my children, and I don't think that's going to be very possible if I have silicone boobies instead of real ones!! Oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there! I'm not the type to worry inscesantly about these kind of things, so don't worry, I'm not loosing any sleep over this, just something new on my plate to think about every now and then.
Remember ladies, self breast exam and mammos when it's time are sooo important. It takes only a few minutes in the shower or while you're waiting for your self-tanner to dry to do a self breast exam, and it can save your life!
Now time for Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters! Good night!!

Workin' It
So, this is the beginning of my 4th week, yes, 4th!!! of working out consistently 4 days a week. WOW! And let me tell you, it's kicking my butt. BUT, I haven't really lost any weight. WTH? I just don't get it. I have definitely gained muscle, I can see it and feel it, but the inches are not shedding like I would like them too!! I'm going to stick with it and see what happens, but I'm telling you, if I don't start seeing something soon, I'm going back to sitting on my ass after work and watching hours of TV cause that's a lot more enjoyable that going to "Power Hour" and having to work out beside an 18 year old soccer player who can do 500 squats without wincing and staring at my 40 year old instructor who looks better than I ever have. Anyway.....
School is almost out!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!! I am planning a summer vacation for our 2nd wedding anniversary, man it seems longer than that.....I think we are going to go to Cedar Point theme park in Ohio-it's the biggest theme park in the US, waaaaaay bigger that Six Flags from what I hear, so I'm super pumped. However, I was watching Food Network this evening, "The Best Thing I Ever Ate", -love that show- and someone was talking about a good pizza in Seattle, and I got to thinking that it might be fun to go to Seattle, too, so I don't know where we are going to go, but it will definitely be far from East Texas!! Jon has some friends that are going to go float the river in July and we are invited and Jon wants to go.....I am not sure what I think about this--aren't we too old to go float the river anymore?? Isn't that for drunk college students? I am for sure not going if I'm going to have to be the only fat ass in the inner tube surrounded by a bunch of 20 year olds-no thanks. I'm sure that's why Jon wants to go, though.....whatever. I think it's going to be during my church's vacation bible school, which I so generously volunteered to direct- I didn't really know what I was getting into, but it should be tons of fun! I love singing and dancing with little kids and making crafts, so it should be right up my alley.
Anyway, I don't think my blog really fits my title anymore since I went of on a bunny chase, or whatever you call it, but whatever, that seems to happen more these days. I always used to think I was ADD, but it was never really that bad, well, let me tell you, it's bad now. I can't focus on anything for the life of me. And you can forget about it if I didn't write it down-and even if I did, there is a good chance I lost (misplaced) the sticky note that I wrote it down on, so I'll probably forget it anyway. So, needless to say, I end up running around in circles a lot and doing things last minute-not because I'm a procrastinator, but because I get distracted and forget. I went to the health food store and bought some "natural" pills for adults with ADD, but I've had them for over a month and keep forgetting to take them....LOL. Oh well, guess it's just meant to be. That is all friends!! Peace & Love

Movie Night
Movies make me happiest of all tangible things. A good movie, good snack, and good company ( or sometimes no company) can't be beat. I have always loved theater, and when I was in high school, I thought that what I loved most was acting. My theater director apparently had a different opinion. During casting for one of our big musicals, I was cast as, not the lead ( because I sound like a cat screeching when I sing), but as "Assistant Director." I was pissed. Assistant director?? I wasn't even going to get to act! Looking back on it, I now realize that she saw potential in me where I hadn't even looked, and it was actually a compliment that she trusted me to help her direct everyone. I kicked ass as Asst. Director by the way, single handedly choreographing a bar fight scene, thankyouverymuch... Anyway, I have always had a love for acting, but I have recently discovered a love for good directing. Just like a good author can make a mediocre tale into something fabulous, a good director can make mediocre acting or scripts into something fabulous. I guess I should have stuck to the directing and I could be sitting next to Opie or Baz Lurman at this very moment discussing our picks for the SAG awards. But alas, here I am writing a blog about my top 10 favorite movies-ever.
In no particular order, because I'm a Gemini and I can't stick to my decisions, so making this list is in itself a feat. I'm sure I will revise it 5 times before I post. :)
10. Practical Magic
9. Goonies
8. City of Angels
7. The Neverending Story
6. Empire Records
5. The Wizard of Oz
4. My Fair Lady
3. Mary Poppins
2. Armageddon
1. Twister
Yep. Looks good.
