Legs in the Air! ( no this is not in reference to syncronized swimming)

So, this weekend was my ovulation time, according to my handy dandy ovulation kit. Of course, I'm starting to doubt this little kit since I haven't gotten pregnant, but we'll see. I seriously think I layed in bed with my legs in the sky for like, 30 minutes! lol, I was playing words with friends and googling things, so I'm not really sure how long it was, but it was a long time!!! Those little spermies had plenty of time to wiggle their little butts to their destination! Now let's just hope they weren't too tired to tunnel their way through it!
I scheduled my doctor's appt for Aug 4 at 10:30am, hopefully I'll get some answers, or reassurance, or something. Even a lollipop would be nice at this point. Or maybe I'll find out I'm preggo!
We are heading off to my best friend's wedding on Wed. morning, so I am super, super pumped about that, and I can't wait to lay on the beach with a cold drink. Should it be sans-alcohol or not??? Hmmm......I'll have to think about that. I wish there was a way to tell if you're pregant like, the next day. That would be fabulous!! In preparation for the wedding, I purchased a Groupon for a $20 airbrush tan in Frisco. So, I am going up there Tuesday to get it!! Im excited about that too, considering I'm casper white and will be standing next to bride who looks like a mexican, she is so stinkin' tan!! And not to mention my dress is "tangerine," not a great color for pale skin.. So hopefully the airbrusher will give me a great tan! I will let you know how that turns out..
Nite!

This is starting to sound familiar.....

Well, my friend did indeed come this past weekend. I am so thankful though that I was able to be distracted by 8 teenagers and a 13 hour drive to Colorado for our church's youth mission trip. I must say that even though I was looking forward to the trip, I was a little aprehensive of spending a week with a group of 14-18 year olds!! As always, God had his hand in my decision to be a chaparone for the trip. I so needed that trip!! And spending it with a bunch of teenagers was such a blessing in disguise. I had a blast and didn't even have time to feel sorry about my circumstances. Those kids I spent the week with are truely great kids, and I am lucky to have been able to get to know them. I hope they continue to grow and be successful young adults.
Anyway, I will be scheduling an appt with my doctor tomorrow, so hopefully I can get in soon so she can reassure me that nothing is wrong....or tell me that something is wrong. I just need a conversation with a professional, I think. That will make me feel a little more at ease I think. Until then, I will continue to converse with God and myself..and relax.

Negative

Well, second pregnancy test was negative, also. So, I guess we'll wait and see if my little friend appears this weekend! I really hope it doesn't. Not only because I want to be pregnant, but also because I will be going on our church's Youth mission trip to Colorado Sunday for the week, and I don't want to have to deal with 8 teenagers on my period!!! aaaaggg!!! I think I need to make sure I get the extra large size Ibuprofen if indeed I end up having my period!
On another note, I have a very good friend, Sarah Miles, who has the blog MilesandMilestogo, who is expecting a baby girl soon!!! I am so excited for her and even more excited that she has picked an Owl theme for her nursery!!! I love owls and especially love all the owl baby paraphenalia! So, even though I am having a difficult time getting my own baby, I can live vicariously (but not creepy, stalkerish) through her and her soon-to-be owl loving baby girl!!
Btw, I did not eat the cake balls in my fridge. Score! But I am about to go have a bite of banana pudding. Peace!

trials and tribulations

Well, I just want to say that I was working out a lot....several weeks ago...........why does this always happen?! Why is it sooo easy to fall of the wagon, but so freaking hard to get back on?? It's like when you are tubing at the lake and you are like " well, I don't know if I really want to get on because it's gonna suck when I get thrown off and then I'm gonna be stranded in this dirty water until someone turns the boat around to come get me. Then, I will have to try to get back on the tube or on the boat with everyone watching and laughing at me as I fall back down in the water several times and get nasty lake water in my mouth. Then I'm just gonna be pissed and wish I would have stayed home and watched my Tivoed episodes of Ellen."
So, with that said, I don't know why it's like that. It's working out for pete's sake! It should be easy and fun since we all are supposed to do for the rest of our lives to be healthy! Yet, it isn't that easy.
Let me just show you my senario::
I worked out for 4 weeks straight...
Then I got sick with a sinus/upper respiratiory infection for a week and didnt go that week
Then I went all the next week...
Then I went Monday the next week cause tues-thurs I was out of town
Then I was gone that weekend and all that next week on my vacation..
When I got back, my membership to gym had expired and I didn't feel like going to renew it because I wanted to try to get a corporate membership so I didnt have to pay so much for it, but I wasn't sure how to get one through my Aunt's hardware store so I waited until I could talk to her and I just didn't want to do anyhting since the last two weeks were really busy....
So, then it was 4th of july and I think I worked out once with my cousin and once with a friend when I finally got my stupid membership renewed.
And now we are here at this week and I went yesterday to Power Hour for the first time in like, 3 weeks, so it freaking kicked my butt last night and I didn't want to go workout today because I was soo tired and I needed to clean this disgusting house.....so anyway... what was my point.........
oh yeah, why is it so easy to just not go?? whatever, maybe I'll do better the rest of the week, but I'm not making any promises or I'll just get pissed when I don't go.
I'm so looking forward to Schlitterbahn at the end of the month though!! That is my motivation right now, so hopefully it will keep me going for the next few weeks!! and then I can reward myself with a Coach purse from the San Marcos outlet!
Peace out!

Follow up and vacations

Well, I had my mammogram a couple weeks ago......not a good time. Everything came out normal, but MAN DID IT HURT!!! Seriously, you would think that by this day and age with all the fancy things this world has come up with, that someone would have thought of a better way to check for breast cancer!! Wow, that's all I really have to say about that. It's one of those things that you just won't understand until you have to do it yourself-and you should do it yourself at some point between 35-45 years old.
Anyway, Jon and I just went on vacation, and it was so great! We got to visit with Jon's family in Michigan and Indiana for a couple of days, which was great. I just love family! Everyone was so accomodating and friendly, it was just great to see everyone. After the family visiting, Jon and I headed off by ourselves to Ohio to the city of Sandusky to go to Cedar Point Amusement park. Let me tell you, Ohio is full of corn and wheat, and that's about it!! lol. I've never seen so much produce before! It was very neat to see small town midwest-so different from Texas! One of the best parts of our trip to me was getting to see Jon's home town, Bryan, Ohio. He lived there from 2nd grade until he moved to Texas when he was a sophomore in high school. So, this town was pretty much where he grew up, and he has a lot of memories of this place. It was nice to see where he came from and put a picture to the places he has talked about. I really felt like I knew him better after that ride around his home town. That night we made it into Sandusky and headed to Cedar Point for a few hours before it closed at 10. Let me tell you, riding rollercoasters at night is so fun!! It actually didn't get dark up there until like, 9:15, so we only got to ride a couple of rides in the dark, but it was great! They have the best rollercoasters ever! If you love rollercoaster, you have got to go to Cedar Point, Six Flags just doesn't cut it. We went on a rollercoaster that went up 310 feet and dropped us down at 90 mph!! Another one only lasted 20 seconds and started off like a drag race car at 120mph!!!!120mph!!!! woah, I couldn't even open my eyes it was so fast! It took us straight up and straight back down, like, an upside down U-absolutely crazy-but soooo fun!! We were both so exhausted by the end of our trip that we both slept on the plane ride back and went to be early that night! I just love vacations! Well, that's all I have for today!!
Peace out!

summatime, and the livin's easy.....

So......school is just days from being out and I almost can't contain myself!! I'm doing some work this summer, so work isn't really finished for me, but for the most part it is. I am so ready for summer time! I don't know if you know this, but summer is my favorite season. You will never hear me complain about summer time. I am not one of those that hates the heat-now, if I'm doing something that I don't enjoy, outside in the heat, yes, I will complain, but I generally don't do things that I don't enjoy-that's just not how I roll. I would SO much rather be in 95 degree weather than 35 degree weather, unless I'm skiing in Colorado, then 35 is acceptable, but only for a little bit.
I would really like to be as pumped as some of my friends about the summer concerts coming up, but unfortunately, I'm not. However, Chris Cagle and Train two weekends ago were fabulous!!! I loved it! So, I guess that's a good start and maybe I'll find some good concerts to go to later.
I am super pumped about Jon and my's anniversary vacation!!! We are going to Cedar Point, OH. "What's that?", you say? Well, let me tell you. Cedar Point is the US's largest theme park with some of the largest, fastest roller coasters in the world!!!!! Yes, I know, that doesn't sound like a great anniversary vacation to some of you, but I'm so excited. I have wanted to go ever since Jon moved down here and after a trip to 6 flags told me that it was pathetic compared to Cedar Point ( where he used to live) I am so ready to ride these coasters!!! We are also going to visit some of his family while we are up there, so that will be a good time too. Now, don't get me wrong, I would love to be spending our anniversary on the beach the whole time, but that's not really Jon's cup of tea, so we had to compromise. Plus, Jon's family lives at Lake Michigan, so I can just spend an afternoon on the beach there-which is actually like a beach, not a lake with brown dirt like we have here. Plus!!! We are flying into Chicago and going to get real Chicago pizza for dinner while we are there!! :) How awesome is that? I know, be jealous. I don't know if Cedar Point or Chicago pizza are on my bucket list, but they should be and I will get to check them off in a few weeks!
Another thing I'm going to check off soon is writing a children's book. I'm going to start doing some drafts now and see where it takes me. Wish me luck!!
Oh! By the way! I had a great, great birthday weekend! Thanks to Erin for coming down and keeping me entertained! lol! It doesn't get much better than friends, family and the lake, so I started my 26th year off very well!! We will see what the rest of the year brings! Peace out!

BOOBS

Well, I went to the lady doctor recently and since this was my first visit with her ( I changed docs to get an actual OB/GYN so I don't have to switch in the future when I have babies, and to establish a doc here since I've been using my doc in Denton still) I had to give her all my and my family's history. Well, my mom and maternal g-ma have both had breast cancer-my mom had it when she was 45ish-so she was pre-menopausal. My new doc told me that since my mom was pre-meno that I needed to start getting mammograms like, now. She said the age to start if your mom has had breast cancer is 35 if her cancer happend when she was post-period, but if the cancer came pre-meno, then the daughter's are supposed to get mammos starting at 25! No one has ever told me this!! She said they do this because my chance of getting breast cancer is 16X more likely since my mom was pre-meno when she got her cancer. WELL CRAP!! I guess that's the benefit of going to an OB/GYN instead of a NP-she knows important information!! So, needless to say, I had to make an appt. for a mammo. BOO! The good thing about it is that I am actually going to go with my mom and g-ma when they go on June 10th. They have to go every 6 months for mammos since they have had cancer, so I'm going with them on their summer trip. They go to Dallas to Baylor to get their's done since we don't trust doctors in Longview to give good tests, so it's going to be an all day trip, but I feel better about it now that I'll be with my mom and g-ma and not by myself. I'm really kind of nervous about it cause I have been told that it hurts like a biotch! so I'm really not looking forward to it. To make it even worse, my women's group at church watched a DVD of this christian lady comedian, I can't remember her name, but she did a whole thing on getting mammograms and it was hillarious, but it seriously scared me!!! lol! She was talking about how much it freaking hurt while they were smashing your boob, and how they move your boobs around on the little platform if it's not on there right, and all this stuff that does not sound like a good time!! lol! Anyway, I'm glad I'm getting it done, so that I can be even more proactive that self-breast exams, but I just wasn't prepared to have to start having them right now! I thought I had another 10 years! In all seriousness, though, I have already made a plan that if I do ever get breast cancer, that both of 'em are coming off and I'm getting fabulous fake boobies in their place! lol! But, it does freak me out a little that I have such a higher chance of getting breast cancer- I want to breast feed my children, and I don't think that's going to be very possible if I have silicone boobies instead of real ones!! Oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there! I'm not the type to worry inscesantly about these kind of things, so don't worry, I'm not loosing any sleep over this, just something new on my plate to think about every now and then.

Remember ladies, self breast exam and mammos when it's time are sooo important. It takes only a few minutes in the shower or while you're waiting for your self-tanner to dry to do a self breast exam, and it can save your life!
Now time for Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters! Good night!!
